COMMENTS
I7OEB My third RNARS Contest. Nice to meet old naval friends, no one overseas in the log. Sorry for the long chat with some friends during the contest. Sorry I did not hear GM4SID this year.
ON4CBM I could only participate for a few hours this year, next year better (I hope).
DL1NL Sri, could only join for limited time.
PA3CIB It is not a good result, but maybe next year better.
OR7A It was once again a very nice contest with a lot of activity, I was using my vanity call.
G3PEM I found conditions not good, maybe I need to look at my antennas.
G3YAJ Sorry small entry but family commitments, not many G stations.
HB9BQR It was nice to meet some of you on the frequency. As in 2005 the conditions were poor also this year. But also the attendance was low. I missed RNARS contacts with EA, GW, I, LA, ON, OZ, ZL and other lands. As for every RNARS-Activity, a new complimentary QSL for each Naval QSO partner will be sent via bureau. Another classical Swiss ship motive has been prepared. Many thanks and best regards from HB9.
G3RFH Conditions poor but where were all the members? And the ones who spend all day on 80m were absent too. If it wasn't for the Italians there would have been very few QSO's.
SM6JSS I was to our son's house on Saturday XYL and congratulating our grand son, aged 18, and today, Sunday we had visitors in our house, so there was not much time for radio. On the other hand I am having antenna problems. My vertical is now on the ground, and I am using a mobile whip on the balcony.
G0UKX Was only able to spend short times in contest. Pleased to catch an opening on 40m on the Sunday.
G0ELZ Pity conditions poor but had fun trying out my new homebrew vertical. Works well on all bands 7MHz to 28MHz via the ATU.
G3IZD Conditions were very poor and 20m very noisy so few multipliers. Where were the GW & GI ???
G3KKJ Very slow activity on Sunday, also many of the regular calls sadly missed this year.
K7VV Only one opening to UK/EU, no VK/ZL/ZS at all. Hope better times are coming!!
M0GMF Gave it a full go this year, only had 4 hours sleep. Pity very few G stations and no ZS this year.
G3ZNR Thanks for another friendly contest, although conditions appeared to be worse than last year, especially for inter G working. Heard K7VV on 14MHz who was very weak but I was pleased to obtain a multiplier from EA8CN. Hopefully conditions should improve for next year.
I1MQ Conditions were poor during the contest this year, besides I had antenna problems, hope better next year.
HB9ANE Apart from the contacts with people I know from former QSO's who are already old friends of mine, I have observed for some time some bad operating behaviour. I wish everyone call me by my callsign de their own callsign, so that I know they are calling me, this I think is a more polite way of having contacts, I also like to pass the time of day with those I know. A lot of stations who are on computers do not afford the time to give names etc. Once again I enjoyed the RNARS Activity.
GB4RN Once again an enjoyable get together of Naval friends. Sorry I participate in the RSGB 1.8m contest on the Sunday which curtails my 80m operating time. Conditions on HF were poor and sorry I missed some of the rare ones.
Multipliers were active in EA8, G, GD, GM, HB9, I, K7, OE, OK, PA, RN1, SM, TA, VE6, VK4, W1, WB2, 9M6 (TOTAL 18). Remember multipliers are different countries and certain call area's with RNARS members participating, not each country you work. Some of the logs have had to be altered and scores adjusted.
Many thanks for your support and look forward to seeing more active in 2007, the dates are 17/18 November 2007. Let us hope the LZ contest will be a different weekend as there are 5 weekends in the month.
