Membership of the RNARS is open to all who have an interest in any facet of amateur radio and who are serving or who have served in the following:

Royal Navy

Royal Marines

Royal Naval Reserve

Royal Marine Reserve

Women's Royal Naval Service

Royal Naval Auxiliary Service

Royal Fleet Auxiliary

Royal National Lifeboat Institution
Crew/Officers (seagoing)

Merchant Navy

Sea Cadet Corps

Nautical Training Corps

MOD (Navy)

Commonwealth and Foreign Navies

Combined Cadet Force
(RN)

Combined Cadet Force
(RM)

Sea Scouts
(RN recognised)

At present, membership subscription is £15 per annum plus a joining fee of £2. Overseas members are advised to contact their respective Country Manager to ascertain the applicable rate.  Prospective UK members should send their completed application form to the Membership Secretary.

We offer five categories of membership:

Corporate You may join as a Corporate Member if you are a serving or past member of the RN, RM, WRNS, Reserves, Commonwealth Navies, RNXS, RFA Service, Sea Cadets or those connected with these Services in a Civilian Capacity.  Corporate Membership is also granted to those who served in the UK or Commonwealth Merchant Navies.
Associate You may join as an Associate Member if you are a serving or past member of a Foreign Navy.  Eligibility is also granted to those in a civilian capacity who supported these Services.  Associate Membership is also granted to those serving or who have served in Foreign Merchant Navies.
Life Membership

There are two categories of Life Membership I and II.

Category I requires 6 years consecutive membership and a single payment of 17 times the current annual subscription.

Category II requires a member to be over 60 and have completed 10 years continuous membership in the Society.

Affiliate Membership To those persons who have rendered eminent service to the RNARS.  To be seconded by 5 Corporate Members.  Only one per year is granted.
Honorary Membership One per year granted.  Recommendations by any Corporate Member to be forwarded in writing to the Secretary.  Applications are subject to a Committee vote.
