Full Minutes of the recent AGM will be published in the Winter Newsletter and on the website, but here are a few of the main points: Twenty four members attended the AGM held at HMS Collingwood. In order to boost participation in future years, the committee are to discuss ways of making it simpler for members to send in items for the agenda, pre-publishing the agenda and permitting proxy voting. Retiring Treasurer John Patrick G3TWG was presented with the Merit Award for long and excellent service, and certificates went to Dave Lacey G4JBE retiring Area Rep Coordinator, Mike Rutland G0VIX, Dave Butler G4ZMP for their service as committee members.
The Society urgently needs a volunteer as Treasurer and a new Secretary - someone living closer to HQ to keep down travel expenses! It was decided that the Membership Secretary Doug, be authorised to write to all members who had not paid subs in full to say that unless arrears are paid within one month they will cease to be members. Over 200 have not paid full sums and a further 132 have paid nothing. Plaques
were presented to the winners of the 2008 Activity Year: PayPal will be offered next year as an alternative means of paying subs.
